I cannot tell you how outraged I am by this news. The political tussle over U.S. spending has ensnared an unlikely victim, the gray wolf, whose long-time status as an endangered species will likely be axed due to a late addition to the budget deal.

The annex, or rider, attached by two senators to the federal budget bill after weeks of tumultuous debate, marks the first time that Congress has removed an animal from the endangered species list and passed in a vote Thursday.

The Gist

* A rider inserted into the federal budget bill strips away protection for endangered gray wolves.
* The move has left environmentalists both seething and admitting defeat after years of legal wrangling over the fate of the wolves.

Added Tuesday, a few days after a deal to prevent the government from shutting down was agreed on, the move has left environmentalists both seething and admitting defeat after years of legal wrangling over the fate of the wolves. "There is nothing we can do to sue because the rider actually bans the citizens from suing the government over this issue," said Kieran Suckling, executive director of the Center for Biological Diversity.

Who all here is in the UK/across the pond from the USA?

I ask because this summer I may finally be able to live my dream and be at Stonehenge for about a week and a half and was wondering if some of you may like to meet me? It's the only time in my life that I will be able to go across the pond, and my lifes calling to go to the henge.

Gods above and below watch out for this world when I get to the strongest leyline nexus point in this realm.

Seriously people, she deserves A LOT more love hen what she has.

I mean...I've been on my DeviantArt account for 6 months and have almost 30,000 pageviews.

She has been on her account 8 months and only has 1,350 pageviews.

She has worked her a$$ off on her art and has just as much heart and soul (if not more) poured into her work as I do.

She went through HELL FOR 4 YEARS to obtain her BFA (Bachelor of Fine Arts) degree and DESERVES to be recognized for it.

She has the heart of a wolf, and is one of my closest friends, and I hate seeing her think she threw it all away...

DA shouldn't be a game of popularity, but even though it she, she should be a LOT more popular then she is...

She is a beautiful person with a huge and caring soul and her works are just so mesmerizing; so detailed...

She excels at everything she touches; whether it be painted feathers, photography, watercolor, digital, sculpture, you name it.

Just a few of her amazing works are near the bottom of this journal entry here:

So check them out, and give her the LOVE SHE HAS BOTH EARNED AND DESERVES!

This is a map pinpointing the 3 major earthquakes that have occurred around the Pacific basin, colloquiallly known as the "Ring of Fire," in the past 13 months.

Point A is the 8.8Mw Chilean earthquake that occurred on 2/27/10. Point B is the 7.1Mw Christchurch, New Zealand earthquake that occurred on 9/4/10. Point C is the 9.0Mw Sendai earthquake that just happened on Friday. I'll get to point D in a second.

You'll notice the lines that roughly link the 3 major seismic events in a rather symmetrical parallelogram. Nature loves its symmetry. Check out the natural world, and with a few radically mutated exceptions nature likes to put things in nice, even, symmetrically built packages. Which is what makes point D troubling.

Allow me to introduce you to point D, otherwise known as the Cascadia Subduction Zone:

This is the line where the Juan de Fuca plate is subducting, or sliding beneath, the North American plate. It extends approximately 800 miles, and has a nasty habit of kicking off earthquakes in the magnitude 9 range every 300 or so years. The last time it did this? January, 1700.

Uh oh.

Now I want you to take a look at the dates of the 3 Pacific basin earthquakes that have happened over the past year.

That's approximately 6-7 months apart. Ping, ping, ping.

Now, I'm no scientist. Just a huge (literally and figuratively) nerd who's studied volcanoes and earthquakes as a hobby since I was a kid. But this is enough to raise the hackles on my neck. I could be (and probably am) reading way too much into this, but it looks like large stresses are migrating their way in a rather symmetrical pattern around the Ring of Fire, and their next stop is Cascadia sometime in September or October.

Share this if you wish to...more should know.

Officer David Moore Memorial Page: (please comment and leave your support for his work and his family)

I have been following this story since Officer David Moore was gunned down Sunday.
I am incredibly upset about all of it. It never should have happened.
"Human error" put the Son-of-a-B***h who shot him back on the street when he should have been behind bars. The failure of his Probation Officer to do what was necessary to lock up a habitual offender sickens me.
Officer Moore was a multi-generational Police officer, a good man, and very honorable.
The gutter-scum that shot him had a record longer then my arm and was free to wander around.
Officer Moore was performing a traffic stop, whichhad no idea who was behind the wheel, when he was ambushed; shot twice in the chest, and twice in the face.
Even though he was still struggling to survive, by Monday night I had an awful feeling that he wasn't going to make it...

I have very high respect and admiration for Police...so many people like to sit around and b***h about how they could do better or change things and yet don't have the balls to step up and do something about it...but those who become Police, do...and are willing to put their life on the line to protect someone they will never know; have never met.

Officer Moore...thank you so much for your hard work and dedication and for making the ultimate sacrifice to help make this world a better place. May your soul rest easy with the Old Ones and may your family be given the strength to carry on with the knowledge that you will always, always be protecting them.

Under bitter fall of night and soft stop of steps, I am left a reflection of my past. Future is made up of the mistakes we have made, and memories are cornered by our own definitions. Reality is what we make of it. It is our own personal show, and we are the soul director. The only question is, how do you want to be remembered? Will your story differ so much from memory that no one believes you? Or will your self stay true, through good times and bad, and seek not a reflection of perfection, but a reflection of truth?

Sad sweet sorrows echo like bitter hollers upon the nights pale wings. There will always be something lingering under the proverbial bed in our minds, that will challenge us. That one moment in time that you will always reflect back on, and wonder how it could have been different. But how much of your story will be written with regrets? Walk lightly though the ways of those that have gone before you, but heed always their wisdom. Young though you may be, the spirits of the past age with you, become you, and they in turn age you. You are your own shadow.

Cast not against walls unseen and fence in yourself from freedom, but do not become so blinded with the possibilities, that you forget to live. To live, is the right of us all.
